For a lot of Bay View drivers the daily run is down SH2 past the airport and Westshore into Napier, and the car gets washed when there is time, often through an automatic wash. Brushes drag salt and dust across the paint and leave swirls and haze. Machine polishing removes them. Niah and Ben inspect your paint first, explain honestly what correction will achieve, and quote it for that car.
Salt and sun do slow damage, but most of the visible marks on Bay View paint come from cleaning it: grit dragged across the panels by a sponge, a brush wash or a dry towel. Niah and Ben look at the paint with you, are honest about what machine polishing can remove, and quote the correction for that car. Corrected paint is the right base for a ceramic coating.
How Bay View Is Served
Niah and Ben come to you anywhere in Bay View, from the houses along the beach side of SH2 to properties further back from the coast. They work on your driveway or in your yard, and you hear back from Niah or Ben first to set a time.
Between The Shingle Beach And The Esk Valley
Surfcasting Gear And Wet Boots
Fishing off the steep shingle beach means wet gear, salt water and sand in the boot. Left to sit, it leaves damp carpet, a lingering smell and fine grit deep in the liner.
Salt Spray Off The Open Coast
Bay View faces the open sea, and onshore wind carries salt spray inland. It dries on paint, glass and chrome as a dull film, and summer sun makes it harder to shift.
Fine Silt And Dust
In 2023 Cyclone Gabrielle left deep silt across the neighbouring Esk Valley. Dust that fine scratches paint when it is wiped off dry, so it needs a proper pre-wash before anything touches the panels.
